Polish President Andrzej Duda expects US President Donald Trump, who has pledged to end the war in Ukraine, to propose concrete mechanisms to achieve this, according to Censor media.

"I count on President Trump, who is really loudly declaring his desire to end the war in Ukraine, to propose and implement solutions that will be not only a political and economic victory, but which will force Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table," Duda said at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

He noted that Trump’s business-oriented political style differs from traditional diplomacy and recalled that during his first term, Trump allocated military aid to Ukraine, "I mean the Pentagon budget for 2020, this was during his first presidency. He was already providing military support to Ukraine at a time when no one was seriously thinking about war and that Ukraine needed to defend itself," Duda said.

"Ukraine must regain all the lands that are currently occupied by Russia, which are internationally recognized Ukrainian territory. This would be an ideal solution. The war must be stopped." The war, Duda added, must end in a way that prevents Russia from securing a victory or reinforcing its aggressive policies.

A Central European Digital Media Observatory survey found that 68% of Poles support Ukraine winning the war against Russia. The findings, published by České Noviny on February 5, come ahead of the war’s third anniversary.
