EU President Ursula von der Leyen to Visit Ukraine on September 20
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Ukraine on Friday, September 20. During her visit, she will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to von der Leyen, the key topic of discussions will be the European Union's assistance in providing Ukraine with energy resources for the upcoming winter.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is sounding the alarm about the supply difficulties in Ukraine, which is facing its "most severe challenge" this winter since the Russian invasion.
From October 2022 to September 2024, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian energy infrastructure 1024 times, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko. The attacks have affected 18 GW of generation capacity, including hydropower plants, thermal power stations, and Europe’s largest nuclear plant, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
