The European Union has imposed sanctions on seven individuals and an equal number of organizations involved in Iran's transfer of missiles and drones to Russia.

According to the Council of the European Union, the restrictions target those responsible for developing and transferring drones, missiles, and related technologies to Russia to support its war against Ukraine, as well as armed groups and organizations that undermine peace and security in the Middle East.

The sanctions specifically include three Iranian airlines—Saha Airlines, Mahan Air, and Iran Air—along with two procurement companies responsible for supplying weapons through transnational networks. Additionally, two companies that produce fuel for launching missiles and shells are also included on the sanctions list.

Sanctions have also been applied to Iran's Deputy Defense Minister Seyyed Hamzeh Galandari, officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the central headquarters of the IRGC Khatam al-Anbia, and the aerospace forces of the IRGC, as well as directors of Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries and the Aerospace Industries Organization.

All sanctioned individuals and organizations will have their assets frozen and are banned from entering the European Union. They are also prohibited from receiving funds or other economic resources.

On October 4, Bloomberg reported that the EU is developing a sanctions package targeting Iran for its missile supplies to Russia, a move that the US officially confirmed on September 10. Officials from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France have declared their intention to impose sanctions on the company involved.
