Denmark and the Netherlands have already commenced the process of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. They will be operational in Ukrainian skies as early as this summer.

This announcement was made by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a NATO forum organized at the Alliance summit.

"As we speak, the transfer of F-16s from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine is underway," he stated.

Blinken further mentioned that these F-16s will be flying over Ukrainian skies this summer "to ensure that Ukraine can continue to defend itself effectively."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a video address from Washington, indicating that "a decision on the F-16s will be made very soon": "We are increasing the number of aircraft available to Ukraine."

Earlier on July 10, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced that Norway is sending six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
