A court has found Anton Krasovsky, former director of propagandist media Russia Today, guilty of public incitement to genocide.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officials recorded that Krasovsky, in one of the episodes of his author’s program, publicly called for drowning and burning Ukrainian children. This segment was broadcast on Russia Today, as well as on his personal YouTube channel and Telegram channel, which have several hundred thousand subscribers.

In his statements, Krasovsky incited the Russian audience against Ukrainians and called for the physical destruction of the Ukrainian people, according to investigators. The expert analysis confirmed that these statements constitute public incitement to the genocide of Ukrainians.

In February 2023, a court in Ukraine had already found Krasovsky guilty of public incitement to genocide and violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order (Part 2 of Article 442, Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to the maximum penalty allowed by the statutes—5 years imprisonment with property confiscation.

The court has now also found Krasovsky guilty of inciting the murder of Ukrainian children under Part 2 of Article 442 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In light of the cumulative verdicts, the court has imposed a final sentence of 5 years imprisonment with property confiscation for the committed crimes.
