Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,590 Troops, 8 Tanks, and 37 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,590 troops, eight tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles, and 37 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on July 27.

Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since launching its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have now reached approximately 1,440,580 troops killed or wounded.

Ukraine also reported the destruction of one air defense system, seven UGVs, 1,269 operational-tactical UAVs, six cruise missiles, 491 vehicles and fuel tankers, and seven pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses now stand at 12,225 tanks, 25,032 armored combat vehicles, 46,831 artillery systems, 1,969 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,519 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,038 UGVs, 429,555 operational-tactical UAVs, 4,950 cruise missiles, 34 ships and boats, two submarines, 126,302 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,472 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 264 combat engagements across the front over the past day, with the heaviest fighting in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions.

Russian forces launched two missile strikes using nine missiles and conducted 96 airstrikes, dropping 317 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 8,884 suicide drones and carried out 3,028 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 50 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the same period, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 17 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, one UAV command post, and one command-and-observation post.

Previously, Ukraine’s Defense Forces broke up one of Russia’s largest recent attempts at a massed tank breakthrough in the Dobropillia direction, destroying nine tanks, two armored vehicles, and three BM-21 Grad rocket launchers.
