Fourth Dam Bursts in Russia in Two Weeks, Russian Media Reports
A dam burst in the city of Dalnerechensk in Primorsky Krai, Russia, local residents are being evacuated.
The head of Primorsky Krai reprimanded the deputy chairman of the regional government and the head of the hydraulic structures agency accusing them of delay in the deliverance of special equipment for strengthening the dam. The equipment was supposed to be delivered on Saturday but will arrive only on August 6.
Previously, on July 26, a dam broke at the Kialimskoye reservoir, Chelyabinsk region. On July 29, a dam burst in northwest Russia's Karelia, killing a person. And on August 4 a dam collapsed in the Russian republic of Buryatia.
