France remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s victory plan in its ongoing Russia’s war against Ukraine. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot made this statement during a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Barrot emphasized France’s dedication to Ukraine, stating, “We support the victory plan because we have been alongside Ukraine for over a thousand days and are making the necessary efforts.” He underscored that France’s assistance extends beyond military aid, as the country is also prepared to offer support in civilian and economic sectors. Furthermore, Barrot expressed France’s readiness to back Ukraine when it decides to commence peace negotiations.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha highlighted France’s proactive role in advancing the victory plan. “We had a face-to-face conversation where we exchanged views on additional steps for the practical implementation of President Zelenskyy’s victory plan,” he noted. Sybiha also mentioned that Barrot briefed him on the outcomes of a recent Quad Leaders' Summit in Germany, where the further implementation and details of the victory plan were among the key topics discussed.

Earlier, on October 16, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Victory Plan to the Ukrainian Parliament. Following discussions with US President Joe Biden and Western leaders in London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin, the plan aims to ensure that Ukraine has a strong negotiating position for potential peace talks with Russia.
