France to Send All 2025 CAESAR Artillery Systems to Ukraine, Macron Says

All CAESAR wheeled self-propelled howitzers produced in 2025 will be delivered to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces, French President Emmanuel Macron announced during an appearance on TF1Info on May 13.
Macron emphasized that Ukraine’s strongest security guarantee is a powerful national army, one that France must continue to support, including with weapons manufactured by the French defense industry.
According to Militarnyi, France is now prepared to significantly ramp up production of CAESAR howitzers, with plans to manufacture 12 systems per month.
The news outlet reported that before Russia’s full-scale invasion, France produced just two CAESAR self-propelled howitzers per month. After 2022, that number first reached six units per month, then eight. Now, the manufacturer is expanding to a production rate of 12 systems monthly.

Macron added that prolonged ceasefire in Ukraine is essential, arguing it would allow Ukraine to resume negotiations from a position of strength.
“A ceasefire would provide the best possible humanitarian conditions and open the door to discussions about territorial issues,” Macron stated.
On May 9, it was reported that France will use profits from frozen Russian assets to support the continued operation of CAESAR self-propelled howitzers provided to Ukraine.
The CAESAR is a French-made self-propelled howitzer system is designed for mobility, precision, and rapid deployment. It features a 155mm gun capable of firing up to six rounds per minute with a range of approximately 42 kilometers.
