His first stop was a bombed site in the capital, stressing the severe impact of Russia’s attacks.
“I am in Kyiv to participate in the Ambassador’s Conference and reaffirm, on behalf of France, our unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and freedom of the Ukrainian people,” Barrot said in his post on X.

The airstrikes hit four districts of Kyiv, damaging metro stations, shops, kindergartens, and schools—civilians bore the brunt of the Kremlin’s deadly aggression, French Minister stated. As the violence continues, Ukraine is urgently calling for stronger air defense systems to protect its citizens.

In response to Russia’s escalating attacks, Barrot emphasized that Europe would continue to increase pressure on Vladimir Putin. “As Europeans, we will continue to escalate pressure on Vladimir Putin,” Barrot stated in a post on X.
Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha had mentioned Barrot’s visit to Kyiv.
“Will be glad to welcome you in Ukraine, … as our guest of honour at this year’s Ambassadors Conference. This is a recognition of your personal commitment and France’s leadership. Together, we are working to restore peace, security, and justice,” Ukrainian Minister stated in his post on X.
