Frontline Pokrovsk Faces Indefinite Power Outage
The city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region has been left without electricity, as reported by the city’s military administration. The power outage is currently under investigation by energy specialists.
According to the administration’s statement, “The entire city of Pokrovsk is experiencing an emergency power cut.” Efforts to determine the cause of the outage are underway, but the estimated time for power restoration remains unknown.
As of December, approximately 11,000 residents remain in the frontline city, including 27 children. Humanitarian organizations are providing essential food and water supplies to the population. Frequent Russian shelling has contributed to regular power outages in the area. Additionally, the distribution of natural gas in Pokrovsk has been suspended since December 12.
Authorities have urged residents to prioritize evacuation due to the deteriorating security situation. Russian troops have been observed just a few kilometers from the city, and reports from the DeepState monitoring platform indicate a significant advance by Russian forces in the Pokrovsk direction.
Earlier, Russia’s strikes disrupted water and gas supplies in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. The water supply was cut after a modular filter station was damaged, and 28,000 people were left without gas. To address the shortages, public wells were drilled, and drinking water is being delivered.
