Germany and US Partner to Supply Ukraine with HIMARS Launchers

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during his visit to the United States, announced the delivery of three HIMARS rocket launcher systems to Ukraine. These rocket launchers, sourced from US armed forces stocks and funded by the US, will be delivered in a joint effort coordinated with Washington, Pistorius stated after meeting with his US counterpart Lloyd Austin.

Prior to his talks with Austin, Pistorius visited arms manufacturer Raytheon, which produces the Patriot air defense system, among other weapons, on Thursday. He discussed expediting deliveries with company leaders and anticipates a new contract to purchase additional Patriot systems to be signed this summer.

Pistorius emphasized the crucial role of NATO’s support for Ukraine, warning that a victory for Putin would embolden authoritarian regimes worldwide.
