On December 25, half a million residents in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region were left without heating after Russia’s massive Christmas morning assault, disrupting services in 2,677 buildings. The attack also caused widespread issues with water and heating supplies across the region.

“Currently, 500,000 residents in Kharkiv and parts of the region are without electricity. The city is also facing issues with heating and water supply, leaving approximately 520,000 people without these services. Heating is unavailable in 2,677 buildings,“ wrote Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Syniehubov added that at 9:30 am today, a 53-year-old woman was killed in the village of Novosynove, as a result of Russian mortar fire.

Earlier, it was reported that at least six people were injured in Kharkiv following Russia’s massive attack on Christmas morning.

Later, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned Russia’s latest large-scale attack on Ukraine, emphasizing that it reflects Russia's refusal to consider ceasefire proposals.
