How Many Russian Soldiers Have Died in Action in Ukraine?
According to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has suffered significant military losses in its full-scale offensive against Ukraine since February 24.
As of the morning of July 10, the total combat casualties for Russia amount to approximately 554,510 military personnel. The report specifies that in the past day alone, Russia lost 1,100 military personnel.
Additionally, the equipment losses incurred by Russia include:
Tanks: 8,180 (an increase of 2 since the previous report)
Armored fighting vehicles: 15,715 (an increase of 11)
Artillery systems: 15,051 (an increase of 36)

In June 2024, a NATO official, speaking anonymously, revealed that Russia suffered staggering losses during its May offensive in the Kharkiv Region. With approximately 1,000 fatalities per day, Russian forces attempted but failed to establish a buffer zone as planned by Vladimir Putin.
On February 24, 2022, Russian leader Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale war against Ukraine, launching a “special operation” aimed at “demilitarizing and denazifying Ukraine.” Initially focused on capturing Donbas and southern regions, Putin’s ambition to “take Kyiv in three days” faltered as Ukraine resisted staunchly.
