Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he is willing to leave his post in exchange for peace in Ukraine or the country’s NATO accession, according to United24 Media correspondent. His remarks came during “Ukraine. Year 2025” forum.

“If peace for Ukraine requires it, and if it is necessary for me to leave my post, I am ready. Another option is exchanging it for NATO membership, if such conditions are proposed, so that this matter is resolved without prolonged discussion,” Zelenskyy stated.

He emphasized that his current focus is on Ukraine’s security today rather than long-term political ambitions.

“I consider NATO the most cost-effective option, and that is a fact. Regardless of individual positions on this matter, it remains on the table. It will also be part of security guarantees and negotiations. While I do not know the final outcome, this issue will certainly be discussed,” he added.

Zelenskyy also pointed out that discussions on this topic will continue with Ukraine’s international partners.

“It is essential to understand that this is not a negotiation table where Ukraine is merely invited. This is our table because the war is happening in Ukraine. We are the ones inviting European leaders, as the conflict is taking place on our land. We are an integral part of this continent,” he stated.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated at the Ukraine. Year 2025 forum that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aims to achieve a just peace and end the war by the end of 2025, emphasizing the need for full diplomatic mobilization.
