On September 2, a massive missile attack by Russian forces on Kyiv caused significant damage to the Islamic Cultural Center of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including the mosque located in the Nyvky neighborhood of the Shevchenkivskyi District.

The report came from Refat Chubarov, a Crimean politician and public figure, leader of the Crimean Tatar national movement in Ukraine and worldwide. “The building of the Islamic Center, especially the mosque located in it, needs repair. Another proof that Russia is a country of absolute evil,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The building, and particularly the mosque within it, sustained considerable destruction and will require repairs.

According to Suleyman Khairullaev, the Deputy Mufti of Muslims of Crimea and a military chaplain, fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the attack.

On the early morning of September 2, as families in Kyiv were preparing for the first day of school, Russian forces attacked Kyiv using a combination of cruise and ballistic missiles. Approximately 20 missiles of various types were launched.

In total, the radio engineering forces of the Air Force of Ukraine detected and tracked 58 air targets, including 35 missiles of various types and 23 attack UAVs.
