Kuleba on Recent Attacks: How Many More Tragedies Before Air Defense Is Sent?
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Western allies to speed up the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine after Russia’s strike on Poltava, which killed more than 50 people and injured almost 300.
This was stated by Minister Kuleba in his interview with CNN.
During the interview, Kuleba emphasized that a Patriot or a SAMP/T air defense system would have been able to intercept the ballistic missiles that were used by Russia to target Poltava.
“I do not know how many more tragedies like this have to occur for all promises to be fulfilled and for all new commitments to be made,” Kuleba said.
In the last few days, Russia has been heavily striking Ukrainian civil infrastructure, including educational institutions.
Yesterday, on September 3, Russia hit a Poltava educational institution with ballistic missiles, resulting in the killing of at least 53 people and injuring 298, with ongoing rescue efforts underway.
On the morning of September 4, Russia hit Kryvyi Rih, damaging a hotel and 4 educational institutions and a Lviv residential area, killing at least 7 people and injuring 47.
