Latvia has assembled its largest shipment of locally manufactured drones for Ukraine, consisting of 1,400 units.

Latvian Defence Minister Andris Sprūds announced on (Twitter) X that this shipment represents the largest batch of drones produced by Latvian manufacturers to date and is now ready for dispatch to Ukraine.

“The largest batch from Latvian manufacturers, 1,400 drones, is ready to be shipped to Ukraine. This completes the Ministry of Defence’s purchase of more than 2,700 drones from Latvian companies for Ukraine,” Sprūds stated.

He further highlighted that Latvia has provided Ukraine with a total of 3,000 combat drones of various types and capabilities as part of the ongoing drone coalition. “Together with Latvian companies, we will continue to provide support until Ukraine’s victory,” Sprūds added.

Just last week, Sprūds announced the transfer of around 500 Latvian-made drones to Ukraine. Additionally, Latvia and Germany have agreed to jointly procure drones to support Ukraine. Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba mentioned that Latvia would collaborate with Ukraine to boost drone production as part of the drone coalition.
