Latvia to Deliver 500 Drones to Ukraine, Defense Minister Says
Latvia has already prepared to send the next batch consisting of 500 drones to Ukraine, wrote the Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds.
In July, the Latvian Ministry of Defense stated planning to hand over 2,500 drones of various types worth €4 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Latvia plays a key role in the international drone coalition established to support Ukraine. The coalition, co-led by Latvia and the United Kingdom, aims to provide much-needed aerial technology to Ukrainian forces. Recognizing the critical role drones play on the battlefield, Latvia has pledged €20 million to the coalition this year, with over €10 million earmarked for purchasing drones directly from Latvian manufacturers.
