Starting tomorrow, Lithuania will ban all vehicles registered in Belarus. This was announced by the State Border Committee of Belarus.

The ban applies to passenger cars regardless of the nationality of the owner or driver.

A previous similar restriction, introduced on July 18, did not cover vehicles not intended for sale, nor did it apply to cars owned by Belarusian citizens with a valid visa or residence permit in EU countries.

However, starting Friday, July 16, Lithuania will extend the ban to include all passenger cars registered in Belarus.

On July 18, Estonia, following Latvia and Lithuania, banned the entry of vehicles with Belarusian license plates, regardless of the reasons for the owner's or user's presence in Estonia or the EU.

In 2023, EU countries banned vehicles with Russian license plates. Poland, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia introduced the ban in September, while Norway did so in October.
