NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that allowing Kyiv to launch long-range missile strikes deep into Russian territory would not be a red line that leads to escalation.

This was stated by Stoltenberg in an interview with the Times newspaper.

"There have been many red lines declared by him before, and he has not escalated, meaning also involving NATO allies directly in the conflict," said Stoltenberg.

"He has not done so, because he realizes that NATO is the strongest military alliance in the world. They also realize that nuclear weapons, and nuclear war, cannot be won and should not be fought. And we have made that very clear to him several times," he added.

Ukraine is seeking permission to deploy long-range missiles to target Russian air bases and military infrastructure responsible for attacks on Ukrainian civilians and energy facilities.
