Macron: France Supports Ukraine's Right to Strike Targets Inside Russia With French Arms
French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on June 6, in a joint interview with BFMTV, TF1, that Ukraine has the right to conduct strikes using French weaponry within Russian territory.
Macron made it clear that he is not talking about targeting civilian infrastructure.
"The limit is set by the actions of Russians," Macron said, adding that Paris has never wanted any escalation and that it was not France who attacked Ukraine.
"From day one, the Russians have been making threats. The main thing is that we are not to blame. But we are determined to deal with any risk. We are ready for this," the French president stated.
President Emmanuel Macron announced on June 6, during President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Allied landings in Normandy, that France will transfer Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine.
