Massive Drone Attack Reported on Russia’s Lipetsk Region, Targeting Country’s Largest Steel Plant

Russian media, authorities, and local channels reported a large-scale drone attack on Lipetsk and the Lipetsk region, including the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, overnight on February 13.
Governor Igor Artamonov confirmed the attack, stating: “The region has experienced a massive UAV raid. Air defense systems and electronic countermeasures are actively engaged.”
The aeration station, located in the same industrial zone in southern Lipetsk as the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, is suspected to have been a target, according to Russian media. Some outlets suggest that drones may have also struck a tractor factory in the town of Gryazi, near Lipetsk.
Local reports indicate power outages in several districts of Lipetsk following the attack. Russian Telegram channels claim at least 12 explosions were heard in the city's industrial area.
Additionally, since 3:30 am, drones have reportedly targeted the town of Yelets, with residents describing “loud bangs and buzzing sounds.”
Previously, attack drones struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, a critical hub in Russia’s fuel infrastructure, Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, reported on February 11.
