Mystery Donor Drops Nearly $5M on Drones and Gear for Ukraine via Czech Initiative

An anonymous donor in the Czech Republic has contributed roughly $4.81 million to the pro-Ukraine fundraising initiative Dárek pro Putina (“A Gift for Putin”), the group announced on December 15.
According to the organizers, the funds will be used to rapidly procure a wide range of military-related equipment for Ukraine, including various types of drones, explosive materials, shotguns, and frontline gear.

“We want to spend this money very quickly so it can ‘start working’ as soon as possible,” the initiative wrote in a statement.
The group later provided additional details on how the donation will be allocated.

“We have divided the 100,000,000 Czech crowns from the anonymous donor into 26 items. We will mainly purchase various types of drones, plastic explosives, equipment for units at the front, and even shotguns. We want to spend the money very quickly—so that it can ‘start working’ as soon as possible.”
Dárek pro Putina is one of the most prominent grassroots fundraising efforts in Czechia supporting Ukraine’s defense, regularly raising money for drones, heavy equipment, and other military needs amid Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
Earlier, reports emerged that Czechia fulfilled its commitment to supply 1.8 million pieces of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine’s defenders by the end of the year.
