In a previous post on X, Fiala wrote about peace negotiations in Ukraine.
“Negotiations for peace in Ukraine are hopefully entering their final stage. It is clear that Ukraine must have a combat-ready army and sufficiently strong security guarantees. Only then can lasting peace be achieved. I firmly hope that the Czech Republic will continue to be an active member of the Coalition of the Willing; otherwise, decisions will be made about us without us,” he stressed.

Earlier, Petr Fiala said the Czechia’s total spending on aid to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion has reached 4.3$ billion, while state revenues connected to this support exceed expenditures by 607$ million, česky noviny reported.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Fiala stressed that claims suggesting the Czech state is “losing money” on Ukraine are false.
According to the outgoing prime minister, revenues linked to taxes, social and health insurance, and compensation for military aid amounted to 3.7$ billion and 1.1$ billion respectively. “The Czech state is certainly not losing money on helping Ukraine—quite the opposite,” he said, adding that financial considerations remain secondary to the moral and security imperatives of supporting Ukraine’s fight.
