NATO Prepares for Potential War with Russia, Estonia Assigned Long-Range Strike Tasks
NATO is stepping up its preparations for a potential war with Russia, with Estonia being assigned significant roles in the Alliance’s strategic framework. According to ERR, Estonia is tasked with enhancing its long-range strike capabilities, focusing on potential targets within Russia.
Major General Vahur Karus, Chief of the Estonian Defense Forces, emphasized Estonia’s crucial role: “We need to focus on specific targets within Russia,” underlining the importance of Estonia’s contribution to NATO’s strategic planning.
As NATO enhances its preparedness, other countries have also weighed in on the implications of a potential conflict with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a warning about the broader consequences if Russia succeeds in Ukraine. In a recent interview with CBS News, Zelenskyy asserted that Russia’s ambitions extend beyond Ukraine.
“If Ukraine loses, Putin won’t stop there. For him, we are a satellite of [the] Russian Federation. At the moment, it’s us, then Kazakhstan, then [the] Baltic states, then Poland, then Germany. At least half of Germany,” Zelenskyy stated, highlighting the potential for further aggression.
