NATO countries will provide more than $7 million to support women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including more than 10,000 uniforms, boots, and other necessary equipment.

The 75th NATO Summit in Washington, which began on July 9, has already presented its first results.

At the reception after the NATO round table "Women, Peace, Security", US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced NATO's assistance to Ukrainian women soldiers. NATO countries will provide more than $7 million to support women in the Armed Forces, including more than 10,000 uniforms, boots, and other necessary equipment.

"It’s just one small part of our effort to ensure that Ukraine can not only defend itself today but also get to the place where it can stand strongly on its own feet – militarily, economically, democratically. That is the mark of success for Ukraine," said Blinken.

Negotiations with NATO regarding additional funding have been ongoing since 2023. In March 2024, Deputy Minister of Defense Nataliia Kalmykova met with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security Irene Fellin and Head of the NATO Representation in Ukraine Karen McTear. The parties agreed on consultations and mutual assistance in implementing the principles of gender equality in the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
