The Netherlands has signed contracts to procure 600,000 Ukrainian-made drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will deliver 100 radar systems designed to detect unmanned aerial vehicles, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague.

According to Brekelmans, the procurement deals—worth €500 million (approximately $580 million)—were recently concluded with Ukrainian manufacturers as part of the broader “Drone Line” initiative. The drones are expected to be deployed urgently to frontline units.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands emphasized that the delivery aims to strengthen Ukraine’s battlefield capabilities by scaling up locally produced FPV drones.

In addition to the drone contract, the Netherlands has unveiled a new military aid package worth €175 million (approximately $202 million). This includes 100 drone-detection radars and additional UAVs, though the specific models have not been disclosed.

These radar systems are intended to detect hostile drones and relay targeting data to air defense systems for interception. The delivery of all 100 units is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

The package also includes 20 Ermine CASEVAC modular vehicles for casualty evacuation. These vehicles feature semi-autonomous operation modes and are tailored for frontline medical response.

Separately, the Dutch government has committed an additional €80 million (approximately $93 million) toward drone procurement under the International Drone Coalition framework. This comes in addition to a previous €20 million (approximately $23 million) contribution announced earlier this year.

Earlier, on June 4, the Netherlands announced a €400 million naval aid package for Ukraine, including over 100 vessels, 50 maritime drones, weapons, sensors, and training to boost maritime security amid rising threats in the Black Sea.
