New Video Shows the Ukrainian Operation to Capture North Korean Soldiers in Kursk
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) have released a video documenting the capture of a North Korean soldier during operations in Russia’s Kursk region.
The video, shared by SOF Tactical Group No. 84, captures the moment the soldier was detained and subsequently evacuated from the battlefield. Ukrainian operatives provided the individual with initial medical assistance following his capture.
This is the first documented instance of Ukrainian forces capturing a North Korean soldier, shedding light on the reported involvement of foreign personnel in Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces captured two North Korean soldiers in Russia’s Kursk region during a special operation. The detainees, now in Kyiv under the custody of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), are cooperating with investigators.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed their capture and emphasized the need for global awareness of such incidents. Initial questioning, conducted with the assistance of South Korean translators, revealed that the soldiers had participated in joint training with Russian forces.
