For the first time, a North Korean-supplied 240-mm M1991 multiple rocket launcher supplied to Russian forces has been captured on video.
This was reported by Defense Express on April 20.

In January, Ukraine’s military intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov reported that Russia had already received 120 MRLS from North Korea and was expected to receive another 120 in the near future.
The M1991 is a North Korean 240-mm MLRS, first revealed publicly in the early 1990s. It is believed to be an evolution of North Korea’s earlier M1985 system and is one of the most powerful rocket artillery platforms in the country’s arsenal.
The M1991 is built for long-range attacks against enemy forces and equipment, but its original purpose, striking densely populated areas like Seoul, underscores its capacity for indiscriminate urban bombardment. With the ability to fire 22 rockets in under a minute and rapidly reposition, the system is designed for both destruction and evasion.
According to Newsweek on April 16, North Korea’s involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine has brought significant economic and military gains for Pyongyang, earning more than $20 billion through military cooperation with Russia.
