Olympic Champion Olha Kharlan’s Saber Fetches $242,000 at Ukrainian Charity Auction
The saber of the Ukrainian Paris Olympic champion Olha Kharlan was sold on August 15 at a charity auction organized by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation for ₴10 million (about $242,000).
The collected funds will be used to purchase ShaBlya automated machine gun turrets.
“Thank you, Olha for such a valuable artifact. This saber has already brought one victory and its price will soon bring victories on the battlefield,” the foundation wrote on Facebook.
ShaBlya is a unique creation by Ukrainian engineers from the Brave1 platform and is now in mass production. This innovative system allows remote attacks to be conducted. This turret enables the military to establish a defensive line by targeting and neutralizing enemy infantry and lightly armored units. The batch includes three different modifications, each capable of firing at ranges between 1.2 km and 2.2 km.
