One Shot, One Kill: Ukrainian Stinger Operator Destroys Shahed Drone in the West, Video

A Ukrainian servicemember shot down a Russian-launched Shahed-type attack drone with a Stinger man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) in western Ukraine, according to footage published on a video of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on October 6.
The video shows the weapon’s launch and the drone’s subsequent destruction.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense amplified the episode on X, writing: “Ukrainian defenders used a Stinger MANPADS to shoot down a russian ‘Shahed’ drone,” alongside a short clip of the engagement.
The interception occurred amid a broader wave of Russian strikes over the weekend. On October 5, Russian forces launched a large-scale air assault across multiple regions, including Lviv and Zaporizhzhia, killing at least five people and damaging civilian infrastructure, according to authorities and independent reporting.
Earlier, it was reported that delays in US missile deliveries could jeopardize Ukraine’s air defenses, with systems such as Stinger relying on steady resupply.
