“Leave Immediately”: Polish Government Issues Urgent Advisory for Its Citizens in Belarus

Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a renewed warning to its citizens regarding travel to Belarus, urging them to avoid visiting the country and calling on those who are already there to leave immediately.
The statement was released by the Polish Embassy in Minsk on September 25
On September 25, border traffic between Poland and Belarus was partially restored. However, options for crossing remain extremely limited. Passenger travel is currently possible only through the Terespol–Brest checkpoint, while freight transport continues to operate via the Koroszczyn (Kukuryki)–Kozlovichi crossing.

In its advisory, the ministry stressed that the decision comes in response to escalating tensions in the region, Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, and repeated detentions of Polish citizens by Belarusian authorities.
Officials also warned that a sudden deterioration in the security situation, the closure of border crossings, or other unforeseen developments could render evacuation significantly more difficult—or even impossible.
For this reason, the Foreign Ministry is strongly urging all Polish nationals still present in Belarus to leave the country without delay, using every available option—whether commercial or private—to ensure their safety.
Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Warsaw will set up a national center to incorporate lessons learned from Ukraine’s battlefield experience.
