In response to a night-time barrage of Russian missiles and drones targeting Ukraine, the Polish military, in coordination with allies, has launched its aircraft into the airspace.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces posted on Twitter (X) to alert citizens, stating, “We draw your attention to the heightened noise levels in the southeastern part of the country due to the commencement of flights in our airspace by Polish and allied aviation.”

According to military sources, this marks “yet another highly tense night” for Poland’s air defense system, as Russia’s long-range aviation intensifies its strikes with cruise missiles and “Iskanders” targeting objects, including those in western Ukraine.

“All necessary procedures have been activated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, with the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces continuously monitoring the situation,” the announcement concluded.

Russia launched a massive mixed missile and drone attack on several regions of Ukraine on the night of June 14th.
