Russia Could Offer Elon Musk Political Asylum, Says Communist Party Deputy

American entrepreneur Elon Musk could seek political asylum in Russia if necessary, according to Dmitry Novikov, deputy for the Russian Communist Party, on June 6.
“I think Musk is playing a completely different game, and he won’t need political asylum. However, if he did, Russia could certainly offer it,” Novikov stated, as reported by TASS. He emphasized that, at present, the head of SpaceX and Tesla has no reason to seek protection in another country.
The deputy noted that Musk has developed his own political strategy and is capable of resolving any disagreements with the US authorities on his own. According to Novikov, the current conflicts between Musk and the US administration are tactical in nature and will not escalate into strategic contradictions.

The rift between Trump and his former adviser Musk has exploded into public view, with both trading insults after Musk criticized one of Trump’s key domestic policies.
The feud intensified throughout June, when Trump began by expressing disappointment over Musk’s criticism of his tax and spending bill, suggesting it could mark the end of their “great relationship.” Musk fired back, accusing Trump of “ingratitude” and claiming, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election.”
On June 5, Trump indicated during a joint appearance with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that he has a personal timeline in mind for potentially imposing sanctions on Russia as the war in Ukraine continues without resolution.
