Russia Is Training North Korean Forces in Advanced Drone Warfare, Ukrainian Official Reports
Russia is now training North Korean forces in drone operations and advanced warfare tactics, the Business Insider reports, citing Andrii Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
According to Kovalenko, plans are underway to send Russian FPV drone instructors to Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, to expand training opportunities further.
This training "poses a threat to both Ukraine and South Korea, as some of these soldiers will transfer their skills back to North Korea," Kovalenko said.
Kovalenko noted that once these trainees return to North Korea, they could potentially apply their skills “for future terrorist actions in the border areas with South Korea."
Russia has assembled 50,000 troops, including North Korean soldiers, in the Kursk region in preparation for a new offensive, according to American and Ukrainian officials cited by The New York Times. This force is reportedly gearing up for action against areas under Ukrainian control.
According to South Korean intelligence, North Korea has dispatched approximately 12,000 troops to support Russia’s operations, suggesting a significant contribution to Moscow’s military efforts.
