This statistic was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President emphasized that many lives were lost due to the lack of sufficient amount of air defense systems.

“Thousands of our people’s lives have been saved thanks to the help of leaders and countries that have already supported our air shield”, wrote Zelenskyy, “However, unfortunately, many lives have been taken by these attacks. And it is only through strength that can we stop this terror. The strength of our people, the strength of the world’s unity, the strength of pressure on Russia, the strength of air defense systems provided to Ukraine, the strength of our soldiers who are holding the front line.”

Russia has recently intensified its attacks on Odesa and Kharkiv cities, Ukraine’s two largest cities after the capital Kyiv. These attacks deliberately target residential sites and infrastructure. In late March, Russia destroyed all electrical substations in Kharkiv, severely disrupting power supplies.
