Russia launched an intense overnight airstrike, firing waves of missiles, Shahed drones, and Kinzhal hypersonic weapons at cities across Ukraine, striking energy facilities and residential areas, injuring dozens of civilians—including children—and killing one person, triggering nationwide power outages.

Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine, firing waves of Shahed drones, ballistic, cruise, and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at cities and infrastructure across the country, according to Ukrainian officials and the State Emergency Service (SES) on October 30.

The strikes targeted energy facilities and residential areas in multiple regions, including Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Mykolaiv, leaving dozens wounded—among them children—and prompting nationwide power cuts.

In Zaporizhzhia, local authorities reported some of the heaviest damage. At least 15 people were injured, including six children aged 3 to 6, after a dormitory and several apartment blocks were hit.

“Several floors of the dormitory have been destroyed,” Ivan Fedorov, Zaporizhzhia region governor, said, warning that one person might still be trapped under the rubble. Firefighters worked through the morning to contain blazes in residential areas.

According to the regional administration, Russia launched at least 20 attack drones and eight missiles against the city and the surrounding area overnight.

UPD. As of 10:28 am, Fedorov reported that rescuers pulled body of a man out of the rubble of the civilian house. The number of injured as a result of a Russian strike on the city increased to 17 people.

In the Kyiv region, debris from downed drones caused fires and property damage in Boryspil, where a 36-year-old woman was hospitalized with burns and shrapnel injuries.

Two cars were destroyed, and several houses sustained damage. Air raid alerts sounded across the capital for hours as air defense systems intercepted incoming drones.

In Dnipro, Russian forces fired ballistic missiles at industrial sites, while drones struck residential and infrastructure targets in surrounding districts.

Fires broke out in Pokrovska and Mykolaivska communities, though no casualties were reported. Officials said 22 drones were shot down over the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Ivano-Frankivsk faced cruise missile strikes that disrupted local power supplies. “There may be interruptions with electricity—the country’s energy infrastructure is under attack,” said Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv.

In Vinnytsia, strikes left the town of Ladyzhyn without heat and water. “We are launching an alternative heating and water system,” city council secretary Oleksandr Kolomiiets said, adding that kindergartens were closed as crews assessed the damage.

The Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions also reported temporary power outages and train delays, while air defense units in Cherkasy shot down one missile and 12 drones. Debris damaged power lines and several homes in rural areas.

Across Ukraine, emergency crews are working to restore power amid rolling blackouts introduced to stabilize the grid following the night of attacks.

Earlier, Russian troops deliberately targeted a children’s hospital in Kherson with artillery shelling this morning, resulting in casualties among patients and medical staff.
