Russian Investigative Committee officially classifies recent explosions damaging rail infrastructure in Bryansk and Kursk regions as terrorist attacks, Meduza reported on June 3.

“It’s clear that the terrorists, acting on orders from the Kyiv regime, planned everything with maximum precision to ensure that hundreds of civilians would be caught in the strikes,” said Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko.

She added that investigators recovered “components of explosive devices as well as other material evidence” from the scenes of the attacks.

“With operational support from the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the organizers and perpetrators of these inhumane crimes will be identified and brought to justice,” Petrenko said.

The incidents occurred overnight on June 1. In the Bryansk region’s Vygonichsky district, a road bridge collapsed just as a passenger train traveling from Klimovo to Moscow was passing beneath it. Seven people were killed and 113 injured. Bryansk regional authorities said the collapse was caused by an explosion.

That same night, in the Zheleznogorsk district of the neighboring Kursk region, another railway bridge collapsed onto a roadway below while a freight train was crossing. The train’s conductor and two assistants were injured.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out a months-long covert operation that struck the Crimean Bridge for a third time—this time with a precision underwater explosion.
