Russia Uses Rocket-Propelled Grenade Drone on Kharkiv for First Time

Russian forces have used an FPV drone armed with an RPG -based warhead against Kharkiv for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, marking a new and more insidious threat to the city’s defenses.
This was reported by Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov on his Telegram on May 26.
According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the attack signals an attempt to exploit potential vulnerabilities in urban protection systems.
“Kharkiv remains one of the key targets on the map of Russian terror,” Terekhov stated. He confirmed that seven strikes hit the city over the past week.

A total of 11 civilians were injured, including a 14-year-old who sustained a traumatic brain injury. No fatalities were reported.
The strikes once again damaged exclusively civilian infrastructure, including private homes, apartment buildings, a printing facility, and office premises.
Earlier, Russia carried out its third consecutive large-scale aerial and drone strike on Ukraine overnight on May 26, killing at least six people and injuring 24 across multiple regions.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russian forces launched nine Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and deployed a record 355 Shahed-type attack drones and decoys. Ukrainian air defenses shot down all nine missiles and intercepted 233 drones. Another 55 drones were either neutralized by electronic warfare or lost from radar tracking.
