Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires to protest a violation of its airspace, according to a post on Ministry’s official website on September 8.

On 7 September, a Russian MI-8 helicopter entered Estonian airspace near Vaindloo Island and remained there for about four minutes.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna called the incident “serious and regrettable,” noting it was the third such violation this year.

Earlier, the Finnish Ministry of Defense suspected two Russian military aircraft of violating the country’s airspace in what would be the second such incursion this year, the Ministry reported.

Previously, a drone identified as a Russian-made decoy system known as “Herbera” was found in eastern Poland, about 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
