Russian Aircraft Accidentally Drops Its Own Missile on Belgorod Region

A Russian aircraft allegedly accidentally dropped an X-59 missile, which fell not far away from a village in the Belgorod region, the Astra Telegram channel reported on February 6, citing its own sources.
According to the media, the missile was discovered on February 3 in a field near the village of Staroseltsevo in Belgorod’s Volokonovsky district.
The Russian military officials stated that the missile “unexpectedly detached” from the aircraft, claiming no casualties resulted from the incident, the media reported.
ASTRA added that at least 16 FAB bombs, two missiles, and one UMPB-250 have fallen in Russia and Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine from Russian aircraft in 2025 alone. Additionally, in 2024, there were 165 recorded incidents of FAB bombs falling from Russian warplanes.
On February 6, it was reported that the Russian army lost 7,000 soldiers irretrievably and a total of 15,000 troops, including the wounded and missing, on the Pokrovsk front.
