Russian Airstrike on Kharkiv Apartment Building Injures 21 People, Including Children
Russian forces launched an airstrike on a multi-story apartment building in Kharkiv on September 21, injuring 21 individuals, according to Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov. The victims include an 8-year-old child and two 17-year-olds.
More than 60 residents were evacuated from the damaged building, and eight of the injured were hospitalized. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed via his official Telegram channel that the attack was carried out using a guided bomb, with rescue operations still underway.
Governor Syniehubov later reported that the strike involved a FAB-250 aerial bomb. In addition to the residential damage, the attack caused four vehicles to catch fire and damaged at least 20 more.
This was one of two strikes targeting Kharkiv on the same day. The city has faced continuous Russian attacks since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. A similar guided bomb attack on September 20 injured at least 15 people.
