Russian Engineer Behind “Krasukha” Jamming System Reportedly Dies in Bryansk Car Explosion

A senior Russian military engineer involved in the development and modernization of electronic warfare systems has reportedly died in a car explosion in the city of Bryansk, RBC-Ukraine reported on April 25, citing sources within Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Yevgeny Rytikov, head of the design bureau at the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant, is believed to have been killed in the explosion. He oversaw the development and modernization of Russia’s electronic warfare (EW) and intelligence systems used in the war against Ukraine.
According to the sources, the explosion occurred overnight between April 17 and 18, shortly after Rytikov entered the vehicle with a colleague. Both men were killed in the blast. The second individual is thought to be either Rytikov’s deputy or his assistant, though official confirmation has not been released.
According to the outlet, Rytikov played a central role in the modernization of Russia’s “Krasukha” EW complex, a system designed to jam airborne radar and satellite signals, and disrupt Ukrainian communications and drone operations. His death marks a significant loss for Russia’s electronic warfare development program.
On April 25, a senior Russian military officer was killed in a car explosion in the Moscow suburb of Balashikha.
