Russian forces executed at least 93 Ukrainian fighters on the battlefield this year, with 80% of such cases reported in 2024, according to Yurii Bielousov, head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Armed Conflict at the Office of the Prosecutor General.

He noted that this troubling trend began in November of last year, when there was a significant shift in the attitude of Russian servicemen towards Ukrainian prisoners of war for the worse.

Bielousov also mentioned that on October 3, new information emerged regarding the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war.

"A video of the possible execution of another serviceman was circulated on Telegram channels in a brazen manner. We promptly registered another criminal proceeding with the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine," Bielousov said.
