Russian Forces Strike Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Sumy, Leaving 6 Dead and Dozens Injured

In a series of attacks during the night of April 15 and the early morning hours, Russian forces targeted several Ukrainian cities, including Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Sumy, causing significant damage, fires, and casualties.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Oleksandr Handzha, reported that the central district of Dnipro was struck, with a nine-story residential building heavily damaged by the attack.
By the morning, the city’s administrative building was still on fire. Three people were injured, with a 29-year-old woman hospitalized in serious condition. A 22-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man were treated on an outpatient basis.
A Russian also missile claimed the lives of five men. They were 40, 44, 45, 55, and 62 years old, according to Handzha.
The rest of the victims are in stable but serious condition, while eight others are receiving outpatient treatment.

In Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces launched an attack on a public transport stop, causing a fire, as confirmed by the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov.
Explosions were reported around midnight, with fires erupting across multiple locations. The attack damaged a parking lot, a business, residential buildings, and a kiosk. A 74-year-old kiosk worker was killed during the strike.

The Zaporizhzhia regional prosecutor's office reported that Russia used a combination of missiles and drones in the assault on civilian infrastructure.
In Cherkasy, Russian drones targeted several locations, including the regional center, as reported by the head of the regional military administration, Ihor Taburets. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully downed 41 Russian drones in the region.
Despite the ongoing threat, four people sought medical attention following the most recent attack, with two hospitalized in non-critical condition. The attacks caused damage to residential infrastructure, with dozens of private homes and vehicles affected. The exact number of damages will be determined after a thorough inspection.

Meanwhile, in Sumy, a Russian UAV struck an industrial zone, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Emergency services successfully prevented the spread of the fire. However, during the firefighting efforts, Russian forces carried out a second strike at the site. Despite the continuous aerial threat, all fire outbreaks were successfully extinguished, and no additional casualties were reported.

Earlier, on April 11, it was reported Russian drone strikes overnight led to fatalities and damage across several Ukrainian regions, with two people killed in the Odesa area, fires ignited in Kharkiv, and several residents wounded in Sumy. The strikes targeted homes and civilian infrastructure, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
