Russian Military Units Identified in Attack on Kyiv Hospital, Investigators Say

Investigators have identified Russian military units and personnel allegedly involved in the attack on the Ohmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv on July 8, 2024. According to Molfar investigators, information on specific military units and the names of Russian Armed Forces personnel responsible for the attack was obtained through confidential sources within relevant state structures.

The identified military units reportedly responsible for the attacks in Ukraine include:

- 44th Missile Brigade of the Russian Aerospace Forces (Military Unit 83122)

- 22nd Heavy Bombardment Aviation Division, Long-Range Aviation Command of the Russian Aerospace Forces

- 22nd Heavy Bombardment Aviation Division, Long-Range Aviation Command of the Russian Aerospace Forces (Military Unit 06987, based at Engels Airfield)

- 52nd Guards Heavy Bombardment Aviation Regiment, Aviation Division, Long-Range Aviation Command of the Russian Aerospace Forces (Military Unit 33310, based at Shaykovka Airfield)

According to the investigators, personnel from the 52nd Guards Heavy Bombardment Aviation Regiment, specifically based at Shaykovka Airfield under Military Unit 33310, were involved in the shelling of Ohmatdyt.

On July 8, 2024, a Russian missile strike targeted “Ohmatdyt” Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, resulting in extensive damage. The hospital, Ukraine’s largest for children, sustained destruction to multiple departments including surgical, intensive care, oncology, and hematology. The attack killed one doctor and two civilians, injured 64 people, including children.
