Russian Missile Strike Hits Multiple Ukrainian Cities, Killing 38 and Injuring 170

On July 8th, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on several cities in Ukraine, launching over 40 rockets of various types.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported, "Russian terrorists again carried out mass rocket attacks on Ukraine. Various cities: Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk. Over 40 rockets of various types. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and a children's hospital were damaged."

There are at least 38 dead and 170 injured throughout the country due to the attack, reports Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

All services are involved at the sites of the strikes.

Kyiv

In Kyiv, at least 22 people were killed and 82 injured. Three transformer substations in Kyiv have been completely destroyed or damaged, reports DTEK.

Zelenskyy showed the consequences of the strikes on the biggest children’s hospital in Ukraine — “Okhmatdyt”. According to the sources on the ground, children are trapped under the rubble.

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv reported Russia hitting a private maternity hospital in the Dniprovskyi district on a repeat strike in Kyiv. At least 7 people were killed and 3 injured.

Kryvyi Rih

In Kryvyi Rih, preliminary information indicates 10 fatalities, with 47 injured already hospitalized, including 10 in critical condition.

Pokrovsk

In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, three people were killed, reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

Dnipro

In Dnipro, a multi-story building and a company were damaged, along with a severely damaged auto repair shop. One person killed and 12 injured, reports the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhii Lysak.

A day of mourning was declared in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih on July 9, local authorities report.
