A cargo ship and an oil tanker collided in Russia’s Novorossiysk port, The Moscow Times reported, citing the Russian state media on February 21.
According to preliminary information, severe weather conditions and a delayed engine start caused the Natig Aliyev tanker to drift at anchor, eventually crashing into the cargo vessel Begonia S.

The Natig Aliyev is registered under the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, while the Begonia S sails under the Liberian flag.
Emergency services reported that the cargo ship sustained minor damage to its bow, but no injuries or environmental threats were recorded. Authorities are currently assessing material damages from the incident.
Earlier, a Russian Panama-flagged cargo ship carrying 3,000 tons of corn was sinking in the Azov Sea after suffering a hull breach near the port of Azov in Russia’s Rostov region.
