Russian Tu-22M Bomber Crashes in Irkutsk Region

On Thursday, August 15, a Tu-22M bomber crashed in the Cheremkhovsky district of Irkutsk region, Russia.

This was reported by Russian propaganda outlet TASS, citing Russian Ministry of Defense.

One of the four pilots has died, according to Russian publication RBC, citing the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev. According to the official, the other three pilots sustained injuries of varying severity and have been hospitalized.

The accident is believed to have occurred due to a technical malfunction.
